Kids see purple for anti-bullying
FORGET seeing red.
If you pass by Rockhampton's Berserker Street State School today you'll see a lot of purple instead.
The students are giving bullying the flick as part of the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence, highlighting the event with their annual Purple Day.
Guidance officer Debbie Webb said students were encouraged to wear purple and take part in a range of activities designed to create awareness about bullying.
"This is our second year of doing it," she said yesterday.
"Last year was very successful.
"Basically there's a lot of talking about bullying and our zero-tolerance stance.
"We'll be looking at cyber bullying as well this year, which has become a big issue for kids," Ms Webb said.
