Joey Scouts go on an adventure
BYRON Bay's Joey Scouts had a real adventure at the town's fire station recently - and earned themselves a badge as well.
The kids from the 1st Byron Bay Scout Group had an "awesome time" with their hands-on experience of the station's equipment, said Joey Scouts leader Mugana Sorrell.
"The visit was part of the requirements to gain their adventure badge, the first badge this new mob of Joeys will earn after the formation of 1st Byron Bay Scouts Joey Mob early in 2012," Mugana said.
The highlight for the kids was using the thermal imaging camera to search for and "rescue" one of the fire-fighters.
