Ill health can't undo NAIDOC success
THE disappointment showed on a multitude of faces when a corroboree which was to be one of the highlights of Tweed's busy NAIDOC Week had to be called off due to the poor health of dance troupe members.
The always popular performance was due to take place at Jack Evans Boat Harbour on Friday, following the completion of a march past which started at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre and finished at the harbour.
Despite the corroboree cancellation it has been a huge week for local NAIDOC Week celebrations.
The week's events commenced with a flag raising cermeony at the Minjungbal Museum last Sunday and will end tonight with a dinner at Cudgen Leagues Club.
In between there was a Cuury Night at the museum, gala sports day, fancy dress disco, Elders Forum, a colourful march past and the induction of two Tweed residents into the Aboriginal and Islander Hall of Fame.
