Hot weather and high fire danger for the Valley
WELL folks with summer well and truly on its way it looks like we are about to start witnessing some hot weather.
Temperatures over the weekend are predicted to be in the mid to high thirties and are not expected to drop until Tuesday.
Friday
Is predicted to be hot and steamy reaching a maximum of 33 degrees.
Saturday
Is shaping up to be a real scorcher with a partly cloudy 38 degrees predicted.
Winds are expected to be north westerly and peak at about 20km/h. Overnight the temperatures could be as high as 18 degrees.
Sunday
There is a slight chance of some very light rain but with temperatures predicted to reach 34 degrees, it will probably only add to the humidity.
Winds are expected to be very light throughout the day.
Monday
The day should be pretty hot with 29 to 34 degrees predicted.
Winds should be from the south east and peak at about 25 km/h.
It will be a hot sticky, night with after dark temperatures between.
High fire danger
The RFS have suspended all permits for burning off until further notice, except of course for canegrowers who they say should exercise caution.
The one blessing according to an RFS spokeswoman is winds are not expected to be too strong.
The Valley only has a handful of small fires burning which are being controlled by local crews.
There is no State of Emergency as of yet but stay posted for further updates on the Daily Examiner website throughout the weekend.
