SUNNYSIDE Mall was victim to vandals early Wednesday morning for possibly the 11th time.

NSW Fire and Rescue captain Greg Hayes said the team received a call to a fire alarm at the shopping alarm about 12.30am.

The team had already had busy night of putting out purposely lit fires throughout Murwillumbah.

"We were called to the Sunnyside Mall because a glass alarm had been smashed," he said.

"It was smashed at least 10 times last month.

"They're just walking past hitting the call point anytime from 12 to 3am."

The false alarms are wasting the firefighter's time leaving them frustrated.

Tweed/Byron Local Area Command said he had no idea about the smoke alarm at the mall being triggered.

A spokeswoman from Sunnyside Mall said they did not want to comment.
