Hazmat unit attends gas leak

A HAZMAT unit was called to a gas leak in Chinderah about 5pm on Wednesday.

A Tweed Fire and Rescue spokesman said the unit was responding to reports that there was a gas leak at the BP Connect service station on Ozone St.

The response unit is still on the scene assessing the situation.
