THE McDonald's Restaurant at Elanora has lost its golden arches.

Motorists on the Pacific Motorway might not have recognised the fast food chain's Elanora store with the famous logo left a blackened shell.

A McDonald's spokeswoman said that a light in the sign had ignited and it was being replaced.

McDonald's is preparing a statement on the incident.
