A FORMER grand final winner and an import from the motherland may be the secret to the Grafton Ghosts reclaiming the NRRRL title.
The signings were unveiled by coach Ryan Farrell as the club was in the midst of plans to celebrate its 50th year.
Farrell said the addition of Todd Cameron and Jason Hart would go a long way to replacing some of the players who have moved on.
"Todd won a grand final with the Magpies in 2009 and has spent the last few years at Woolgoolga," Farrell said.
"He is one of the more diverse players and can cover most positions on the field.
"Jason is a front-rower who has come over from Leeds. He has a few good wraps on him, so we're keen to get him out there."
The announcement of the signings comes as most teams finalise their first-grade playing rosters.
Though the Ghosts' squad will remain very similar to last year, a handful of talented players have moved on.
While halfback Jake Frame and second-rower Sam Lennon leave big holes after their move to Brisbane, the biggest hole will be left by Mitch Lollback.
Lollback, who has moved up to the Sunshine Coast, played an integral role in the Ghosts' grand final charge last season.
Lennon is the only one of the three to be confirmed as playing and will run out for the Burleigh Bears' under-20 side.
Their exits have been covered by Farrell, who said he was confident the team could feature in finals in 2013.
"We will playing to win, there is no doubt about that," Farrell said.
"Hopefully we can keep the injuries to a minimum and we will be in the top four come finals time."
Any hope of Farrell enjoying his first year of retirement have been dashed, with the halfback set to strap the boots on again this year.
Farrell was looking to pass the Ghosts' No.7 jersey on this year, but said he would run around for one more year.
"I did have hope, but I will be out there again," Farrell said.
"We have Raih Woodley coming up through the grades so I will be looking at giving him a bit of a run later this year."
The season will kick off on April 6 when the Ghosts host the South Grafton Rebels at Frank McGuren Park.
