A TRUCK rolled off the Pacific Hwy this morning.

Tweed Police inspector Gary Cowan said the truck was carrying fruit and vegetables and the driver escaped without injury.

The truck rolled off the Pacific Hwy and emergency services closed one lane of the highway near the Cudgera Creek Rd exit.

A Tweed Fire and Rescue spokesman said a HASMAT unit attended the scene about 8.30am and laid barriers to contain diesel. The unit was called back by the rural fire brigade for additional containment about 10.30am.

Emergency crews are still at the scene.
