Exciting time for new season
THE day has finally come for the start of the new season in the Tweed.
This weekend kicks off with the march past and the official open day to start from 10.45am today.
All teams are requested to assemble by 10.45am on courts 14 and 15 to enable the march past to start on time at 11am.
Our representative teams are training the house down, especially our two under-12 Challenge teams.
Both teams will head to Pine Rivers on the weekend of May 5-7 to take part in the Challenge Championships.
This is the high note of their representative season.
Challenge is a chance for the teams to compete with players from the rest of Queensland for state honours.
Coach of the 12A Sandra O'Brien has seen a remarkable improvement in her team of the past couple of carnivals.
Tanya Maddy, coach of our 12B side, believes her girls are on the right course to be competitive in their division.
Tweed is grateful for the time and effort all of our coaches put in, as well as the assistance from their managers.
Our 12A team is coach Sandra O'Brien and manager Jo Weaver, Brodhi Avis, Caitlin Kirsner, Gabriella Klien, Rachel Loder, Sophie McPhail, Thaila Richards, Tayla Rogers, Portia Rope and Bronte-May Saicew.
Our 12Bs are coach Tanya Maddy and assistant Kyla Wilmot, manager Dianne Macgregor, Amy Ammunson-Ehau, Bethany Clark, Sarah Condon, Yanah Fawaz, Lahni Ferruccio, Avalon Green, Aponi Langsford-Mann, Hayley Richards, Holly Sorensen and Tayla Teraki.
