Employees give blood for a cause

A TWEED company has staff visit a blood bank regularly to help promote the service.
Eight staff from NORTEC went to the blood bank when it visited Murwillumbah earlier this week to give blood and it wasn't the first time.
Blood donation organiser Michelle Dowding said the staff from NORTEC went a few times to give blood.
"I think you can give blood every three months," Mr Dowding said.
"We are not short on blood, the blood bank is.
"I like doing it because I feel like a hero."
Ms Dowding said she has given blood for a long time and hoped that other companies would take it up.
"I just thought it would be a nice thing for other companies to do," she said.
According to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, any healthy person aged 16-70 years who has not suffering from a cold, flu or other illness in the past seven days before donation can give blood.
A person planning to donate should drink water or juice and eat in the three hours before donation.
The mobile blood bank will be at Mantra Salt on Friday from 9am until 2pm before heading to Marine Pde, Coolangatta next week from Tuesday to Sunday.
