A MAN was airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital last night after a single car accident on Tuesday.

Tweed Police said the driver was airlifted from Eungella, near Murwillumbah, after the vehicle he was driving failed to negotiate a right-hand bend on Tyalgum Rd.

According to police the car rotated 90 degrees before hitting a tree on the passenger side about 6.50pm.
