WARREN Polglase received a surprise in the mail on Tuesday in the lead-up to this Saturday's council election.

Cr Polglase received what appeared to be a Father's Day card from The Greens with a picture of the party's lead candidate Katie Milne crudely glued inside.

In an obvious fake, the card included how-to-vote pamphlets from candidates that The Greens preferenced.

The note read: "Please remember us on Sept 8 2012, love from Andrea, Katie, Gary, Eddie and the crew."

Cr Polglase was speechless when opening the card before breaking into laughter.

"I really appreciate them recognising me as the father of the council," Cr Polglase quipped to My Daily News.

Cr Milne denied that she or anyone in The Greens had sent the card.

"It's definitely not from The Greens," Cr Milne said.

"We don't have time for silly games like that."

Cr Milne and Cr Polglase were often at opposite ends of arguments in council chambers with The Greens member rarely seeing eye to eye with the conservative politician.
