Dead man's parking permit used

A MAN who took advantage of a dead man's disability parking permit to park in a disabled parking space at Chinderah has copped a heavy fine from police.

Tweed police stopped the 41-year-old Queensland man after he was found parked in a clearly-marked disabled parking space.

The car was displaying the required mobility scheme parking permit, with a photograph of an elderly gentleman.

Police inquiries revealed that both the car and the permit belonged to his girlfriend's dead grandfather.

Police seized the permit and fined the man $441.
