Cyclist in serious condition

A CYCLIST hit by a truck in Banora Point on Thursday is in a serious but stable condition at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

The collision occurred about 7.30am on Fraser Dr.

Triathlete Paul McRobert, from Tugun, was airlifted to the PA Hospital from Tweed hospital in a critical condition about 11am.

According to paramedics, Mr McRobert was thrown 8m from his bike and suffered a fractured pelvis and internal bleeding.

Tweed Police were still investigating the incident and no charges had been laid.

Police said another cyclist witnessed the collision.
