Curtain draws on M'bah Festival
MURWILLUMBAH Festival of Performing Arts wraps up for another year today after a busy five weeks of competition.
Festival vice-president John Holmes said the event attracted about 10,000 competitors.
Mr Holmes said there was some unbelievable talent on display and people will get their chance to see it at when the major prize winners perform at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre on August 14.
"I would advise everyone to get down there," he said.
It's been a busy month for organisers with the group dance and choir competitions bringing in crowds.
"We have had competitors from Gold Coast and across Northern NSW," Mr Holmes said.
He said Murwillumbah had benefited from the visitors arriving in the town for the competitions.
"Most of the people in the group competition stay for the individual competition," he said.
"You can't get a coffee in town… the cafes are packed."
The festival will officially close with the drawing of the curtain across the stage later tonight.
