Woman charged after motorcycle crash

A WOMAN has been charged for leaving the scene of an accident after a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle in Currumbin on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old Currumbin Valley woman voluntarily attended Coolangatta Police Station on Thursday and has also been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

The woman is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

According to police, the two people on the motorcycle, a 63-year-old male rider and a 62-year-old female passenger, were both thrown from the bike and sustained life threatening injuries.

The two injured riders were taken to Gold Coast Hospital.
