Currumbin Surf Club ready to roll this summer with ATV
CURRUMBIN Surf Life Saving Club received a welcomed pre-Christmas gift of an All Terrain Vehicle as part of the 2012 Surf Safe Appeal Corporate Donations.
The club's chief executive officer Michael Sullivan said it could not have come at a better time.
"It's come in really handy because at the end of last season our current ATV was rust damaged," he said.
"We spent over $5000 on repairs so this is just fantastic to get a new one."
It was rolled out for its first patrol last weekend,
"It will be great for the busy Christmas period," he said.
"We've got six patrols in the next week."
The new and improved ATV has an electronic anti-rust proof system which they hope will extend the life of the vehicle.
Last season Queensland life savers spent more than 300,000 hours on patrol; they performed 346,008 preventative actions and saved 2,866 lives.
Jupiters Hotel and Casino donated the vehicle.
