SCORES of people attended the Biggest Morning Tea at Cabarita's Baptist Church on Thursday.

Giant teapots, drumbeats, children singing and lots of yummy cakes were just some of the enticements on the day.

Wanda Mansfield's famous jar of buttons kept people guessing as to how many were in the jar for the chance to win a beautiful hand-crafted rug and support a good cause at the same time.

The Cancer Council fundraiser has been run in Cabarita for 15 years.

Tables overflowing with home-made scones, slices and cakes, a fashion parade from the Second Chance Opportunity Shop, trading table and of course the guessing competition to win Ms Mansfield's rugs attracted a huge crowd.

The Bogangar Public School choir provided the entertainment.

They sang some old favourites like "I'll be There" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Organiser Robyn Creedon said the Biggest Morning Tea had raised $1500 last year and they were aiming for a similar result again.

"It's been really well organised and we saw well over 100 people come along," Ms Creedon said.

"A lot of the community gets involved.

"They met up with old friends and really got into it and had a lot of fun."
