BUDDING Lismore cricketers can improve their game with help from a former top Australian player.

John Brenton will be hosting a cricket clinic for players aged 8-13.

Level Two Cricket Australia Advanced coach Brenton will put participants through a series of drills, aimed at boosting batting, bowling and fielding.

The three-day session, taking place at Lismore's St John's College in Woodlawn Road, will also cover the history, rules and spirit of the game.

As well as being a highly respected coach, Brenton also played with and against Australian legends including the Waugh brothers, Alan Border and Adam Gilchrist.

He has also coached test players including Phil Hughes, Brett Lee and Andrew Symonds.

Boys and girls are welcome to the event, which is open to both starter and intermediate level players.

The clinic runs from Monday, January 14 to Wednesday, January 16 from 9am-noon each day.
