TWO people are in hospital with life threatening injuries after a collision between a motorcycle and a car at Currumbin Valley on Wednesday.

Gold Coast police said the accident happened about 3pm when a motorbike was stuck by a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction on Currumbin Creek Rd.

According to police, the two people on the motorcycle, a 63-year-old male rider and a 62-year-old female passenger, were both thrown from the bike and sustained life threatening injuries.

The two injured riders were taken to Gold Coast Hospital.

A police spokeswoman said while investigators know the identity of the driver of the vehicle, investigations were continuing as to why the driver did not stop at the scene to aid the two injured people.

Anyone with any information that may assist police are being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
