Cooly Rocks Tugun cancelled

ORGANISERS have been forced to cancel today's Cooly Rocks Tugun event.

Wet weather overnight meant the decision was made early this morning ahead of more forecasted rain today.

Cooly Rocks On CEO Bob Newman said although the cancellation of the bands and car cruise today was disappointing, his priority was to ensure a safe environment for festival patrons as well as bands performing on stage, and staff and contractors working at Cooly Rocks On events.

June 9 - 11 is the Grand Finale long weekend of the festival.

There will be six outdoor stages, music and dancing, retro markets and stalls.

Over 1200 custom and classic cars and hot rods will be on display in the parks and streets throughout Coolangatta and Tweed Heads.

The street parade will get underway from 9.30am in Coolangatta on Saturday.
