Competitive brothers prepare
STRAPPED into their carts with a goat towing, there will be no brotherly love lost between Yeppoon brothers Troy, Trent and Robbie Richardson at the Yeppoon Show this weekend.
Entering into the Billy Goat Cart Races on Sunday, eldest brother of the three boys Robbie, 13, will be defending his title after winning the race in 2010 and 2011.
"I hope I win because it will be the third time in a row," Robbie said.
But younger brother Troy, 12, said he'll be doing everything he can to make sure Robbie doesn't land a hat-trick.
"This will be my chance to beat him," Troy said.
Dad John Richardson said the competition was much fiercer between the three than against others in the race.
John said the boys had been practising a lot leading up to the race, but it was all in the name of fun.
"It's a bit of a buzz and a bit of fun for them and they're pretty good at, but I tell them once they get home of an afternoon to get down and give the goats a lap," John said.
"Robbie won the third cup at Ridgelands last Saturday and he's going for the same at Yeppoon so there will be no brotherly love on the day."
The boys will battle it out on their sturdy goats and carts on Sunday from 2pm at the Yeppoon show.
