CLIVE Palmer is firmly back in the international spotlight after claiming that Tiger Woods is an 'emotional wreck' and not a good role model for children.
Palmer has already attracted coverage from ESPN after launching Jeff the T-Rex at the Palmer Coolum Resort and plastering his advertising signs on the course during the Australian PGA.
But his comments about Tiger Woods have been dealt with savagely.
"Tiger Woods isn't the No. 1 golfer in the world anymore," the mining magnate is quoted as saying in The Asutralian.
"We don't want to look backwards; we want to look forwards.
"I would prefer to have (this year's winner) Peter Senior than Tiger Woods. I am sure Peter Senior could beat Tiger Woods on a good day. I am sure he could.''
"Tiger Woods has improved a lot, but he's an emotional wreck, and he's not a good example for kids, anyway."
Palmer has maintained he is confident the PGA will stay at Coolum despite PGA officials saying this year was the last year.
Negotiations broke down after the Coolum resort refused to kick in cash to continue sponsoring the event, as the previous owners of the resort, the Hyatt, did.
According to the Australian story, Palmer believes Tiger Woods would not play at the PGA unless it was at Coolum.
"If you rang him now, he would probably tell you unless it's at Palmer Coolum Resort, I won't come.
" If it stays here, there is a chance he might come here. We had Darren Clarke and Bubba Watson."
