Classic moment as fest draws 1000
THE classic musical festival of the year was a ripper this weekend with almost 1000 people visiting the host town of Tyalgum.
Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music coordinator Alexsandra Deen said the town was incredibly blessed to host such a wonderful event.
"The artists give so much and are so talented," she said.
"They love what they do and you can just see that when they play."
The weekend saw young artists to seasoned artists preform all the classics.
One of the major highlights for Ms Deen was the 30-piece brass band which performed Sunday morning.
The instruments were set up in different areas of the Tyalgum town hall creating a sound Ms Deen called amazing.
"I found myself emotional through the whole set," she said.
"It was just wonderful and you could see the look on all of the visitors faces, it was the sheer joy in their faces."
Ms Deen said she felt honoured and grateful after famous cellist, David Pereira, dedicated a song called Tyalgum Solace to her.
She said the inspiration for the song game from her Tyalgum property Solace.
The 2013 festival is already planned and plans are already being made for the 2014 performers.
Ms Deen said it was likely Canadian pianist and winner of the 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition Avan Yu would be back in two years to perform again.
"This would not have been possible without the help from the dedicated volunteers so a big thank-you to them," Ms Deen said.
Ms Deen said she was now going to have a break before she started the clean-up process.
"It's a labour of love," she said.
