MOVIEMAKERS may be setting up camp near Murwillumbah.

Tweed Shire Councillor Warren Polglase revealed the council was talking to moviemakers about filming close to Clarrie Hall Dam.

Cr Polglase said at the Tweed Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday that an 'international' filmmaking company was shooting the movie.

"I couldn't tell you who is making the movie or the title," Cr Polglase said.

"It's a story that moulds well with the setting."

Cr Polglase said the movie was about two holiday camps.

"It exposes the location to an international audience," he said.

"Clarrie Hall Dam is a very beautiful part of the Tweed."

Cr Polglase said the moviemakers were already talking to accommodation providers in the area.

Mayor Barry Longland was coyer about the project, but did confirm that the council were talking with producers about a movie in the area.

"I can confirm that the council has had some discussion," Cr Longland said.

"I think that any place on the Tweed would be a suitable location."
