LISMORE'S St Andrew's Choir has hit the road and will perform at two non-denominational events, including one at All Saints Anglican Church in Murwillumbah.

The choir will be directed by Warren Whitney who will also accompany the singers on the organ.

The theme of the performances is love, which will be represented by a variety of hymns, from the grand old hymns of long ago to the contemporary songs of today.

Hymns composed over the last 500 years will be compressed into an hour-long performance which will include congregational hymn singing, interspersed with choral items.

Organisers invited residents to "come and lift your voices and join in the singing of your favourite hymns".

The Murwillumbah event will start at 2pm on Sunday, August 26.

Entry is free, however, there will be a collection.
