UPDATED, 11.05am:

POLICE have revealed the driver of a Hyundai Getz was not at fault on Sunday when the car hit a 13-year-old boy who had run out on the road.

The accident occurred on Brisbane St, Murwillumbah about 10.40am.

Inspector Darren Steel confirmed the boy received a scratch to his ankle but was otherwise unharmed.

 

INITIAL REPORT:

A CHILD is believed to have been hit by a car in Murwillumbah on Sunday.

Initial reports suggest the child was hit on Brisbane St about 10.30am by a car that had just exited a shopping centre car park.

Police and paramedics attended the scene of the accident and the child was later taken to Murwillumbah Hospital.

A spokesman for Tweed police said the child's injuries were not life-threatening.
