COOLANGATTA shop assistant and musician Charne Louise took home the title of Queensland Miss Va Va Voom in the Miss Pin Up Australia competition on Friday night.

The 29-year-old was crowned at the Jubilee Hotel in Brisbane.

The Miss Va Va Voom category celebrates girls with a “classically voluptuous curvy body, a modern-day dress size 14”.

Ms Louise, or Miss Lolita Star as she is also known, will now go on to compete for the national title at the Surf N Ink International Tattoo Convention on the Gold Coast in January.

“I couldn't believe I won, I was very pleased,” Ms Louise said.

Entrants on the night were judged on daywear, evening wear, lingerie, swimwear and talent.

“I'm a musician so I sung a song and played the trumpet.”

Ms Louise said the Miss Pin Up Australia competition should be applauded for it's cele- bration of such an alter- native lifestyle.

“It's nice to see something like this for those who do live a slightly different life from every- one else,” she said.

“It's always great to be around like-minded people.”
