Cash splash for surf club
RAINBOW Bay Surf Club will receive $31,818 from the Queensland Government to extend and repair its training room.
The club is one of eight community organisations and schools in the Currumbin area to receive funding from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund which was designed to help approved not-for-profit organisations provide services or programs that benefit the community.
Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey said she strongly encouraged all community groups to apply for funding in the final round of grants this year with applications closing November 31.
The other organisations receiving funding are Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre ($9,908), Elanora State High School ($16,200), Community by the Sea ($4,672), Palm Beach Scout Group ($17,291), Coolangatta Croquet Club ($18,130), Salvation Army Church Palm Beach Elanora Corps ($25,060) and Currumbin Community Special School ($31,795).
The majority of Queensland not-for-profit community organisations are eligible to apply, either in their own right (if incorporated) or through a sponsor (if not incorporated).
