IT WAS the 2011 grand final rematch between Bilambil Jets and Tugun last weekend that was promoted as one of the greatest rivalries in recent Bycroft Cup history.

Unfortunately the round-four match turned into 80 minutes of "carnage" with several players suffering season-ending injuries.

Doctors were kept busy with everything from a shattered knee to stitching up head wounds.

Bilambil won the match (20-14) but come out worse for wear.

Jets' front rower Wade Hall broke his kneecap, putting an end to his season.

"I knew straight away that something was wrong. I was looking up and the players who tackled me and they were looking at my leg."

"I have never seen so much carnage in one game ever," he said.

Injuries included: fullback Tyler Chadburn (concussion, one week), centres Guy (broken nose, two weeks) and Drew Lanston (broken collarbone, 4-6 weeks), prop Mitch Spackman (shoulder, 2-4 weeks), second-rower Jay Lynn (shoulder, indefinite), interchange forward Jamie Donaldson (shoulder, season) and prop Hall (dislocated/broken kneecap, season).
