Byron KFC plan to go on display

THE DEVELOPMENT application for a proposed KFC fast food outlet in Byron Bay will go on display at Byron Shire Council on January 8 and will be open for comment until the end of the month.

It comes after the applicants revealed in a recent meeting with the town's leaders that they had signed a 10-year lease at a store at Byron Plaza, the shopping precinct next door to Woolworths.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page set up by local youth worker Nicqui Yazdi and council mayor Simon Richardson to fight against KFC has had over 1000 'likes' since it was launched on December 17.
