BYRON Bay's iconic Beach Hotel has been issued a number of infringements for alleged breach of licensing regulations.

Police from Richmond LAC in conjunction with Tweed/Byron LAC have issued the hotel with fines totalling $13,750 following an investigation into offences committed during the 2012 Schoolies event.

On November 29, police detected a minor inside the venue.

The following day, another minor was detected consuming alcohol.

Police allege that at the time, there was no security officer at the entrance to the hotel and the minors had walked in unobstructed.

A further offence was detected by police between December 2 and 6, in relation to a lapsed security master licence.

The hotel licencee has been issued with four infringement notices:

Licensee Allow Minor Enter/Remain in Minors Authorisation Area Liquor Act, 2007 (NSW) $1100.

Licensee Allow Minor Enter/Remain in Bar of Hotel, Liquor Act, 2007 (NSW), $1100.

Hotelier Liable for Operation of Gaming Machine By Minor, Gaming Machine Act, 2001 (NSW), $550.

Employ Persons To Carry On Security Activity without Appropriate Master Licence - Corporation, Security Industry Act, 1997 (NSW),

A further offence related to the use of a TAB outlet in the hotel has been referred to the Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing.

Attempts to contact the Beach Hotel for comment were unsuccessful.
