Busted burn-out driver loses car
TWEED highway patrol arrested a man and confiscated his vehicle for doing burnouts and speeding in Casuarina and Kingscliff last week.
The arrest highlights police powers to confiscate vehicles for burn-out offences, a power that will soon be extended to include police pursuit offences.
Police started getting complaints about 10.30pm on Thursday about the car.
The driver was issued court attendance notices and must pay the holding fee for his confiscated car for three months.
