Come to Lawrence Hall Sunday
And we'll make you laugh till you're red
A day of bush poetry, that's what we say
Called Why the Long Face,
A day to develop our sense of place
The day will be startin'
With Murray Hartin
Muz is described as a funny man
The subject of a TV ban
He will be there to share
His best poems to date
Like Rain from Nowhere
About a farmer's good turn of fate
His poem Turbulence
Is about old Billy Hayes
Who he met when you'd least expect it
On an insurance junket
Is described as the most read
Poem of our modern days
After Muz is young Peter Capp
Who'll make the kids chuckle
And give their sides a slap
Peter makes jokes
Jokes that are funny
He likes to take pokes
At modern society
Phil Strutt will be ending
The humorous show
Before the Lawrence Tavern
Where I'm sure you'll all go
Phil's "The Constipated Quokka"
Is sure to be quite the shocker
He's appointed himself to the coveted job
Rottnest Island's poet laureate.
It's said to be performance you won't soon forget
Not like Phil's subject,
In "The Guide who Got Lost"
Now it is time to tell you the cost
Which is 15 bucks
To be paid at the door
Of the old Lawrence Hall.
I'm sure it'll be a real bushy ball.
