Bubblers in keeping with Bay style
WITH a strong and renowned artistic community, it's only fitting that new bubblers at Byron Bay have a certain sculptured look.
Two new bubblers, each worth $3500, have been installed in Railway Park and in front of the Byron Bay Surf Club.
The very distinctive blue bubblers have replaced ageing bubblers in what are considered high-use areas.
Byron Shire Council's executive manager of community infrastructure, Phil Holloway, said a third bubbler was due to be installed at Apex Park, next to the children's playground equipment, after Christmas.
"We trialled the new bubbler over at the Brunswick Heads skate park and found that it stood up to high use plus has the added benefit of being able to fill a water bottle," he said.
"A report on installing new water bubblers throughout the whole shire will go to council in the new year."
