Brisbane Bandits tagged as the main threat to Perth

THE Brisbane Bandits were ranked fifth of the six teams in the Australian Baseball League prior to the start of the 2012/13 season last month.

But after just five games the Queenslanders have already been tagged as the main threat to defending champions Perth.

This weekend will see all teams involved for the first time, with four-game series scheduled between Adelaide and Brisbane (in Adelaide), Sydney and Perth (in Sydney) and Canberra and Melbourne (in Canberra).

Adelaide will call on three of its Seattle Mariners players - pitcher Seon-Gi Kim and batters Nathan Melendres and Ji-Man Choi.
