Breaking yawn: Twilight fans flock to midnight screening
TWI-HARD fans sunk their teeth into midnight screenings of the last movie in the series overnight.
The film, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, was released at 12.01am on Thursday with Tweed residents able to see it an hour before their Queensland counterparts who had to wait because of daylight saving.
Tens of thousands of tickets have already been pre-sold at Event and Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas.
An Event spokesperson said ticket sales were up 30% on Breaking Dawn 1.
"We are thrilled with the advance ticket sales for the final chapter of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," Samantha Philp, national film promotions and partnerships manager, said.
"We already have over 10,000 first week sessions and will continue to add more and more ... to ensure our twilight fans receive the ultimate Breaking Dawn experience."
The film sees Bella, now married to vampire love Edward, transition into a vampire and welcome the pair's quickly growing child.
