Bombed Alaskans to rock out with Pixie tunes and more

GARAGE rock band The Bombed Alaskans are ready to shred some strings at their upcoming gig at the Australian Pub.

On January 18 the Tweed rockers will take to the stage with some of the most alternative covers you could imagine.

"We're not your run of the mill cover band," bass player Brian Seymour said.

"We cover songs like The Pixies, The Stooges, Alice Cooper and the Rolling Stones.

"For a lot of people it's the first time they've heard the music."

Seymour said he believed there was shortage of "decent gigs" in the area and the Bombed Alaskans hoped to change that.

"We're looking forward to the show - the Aussie pub is one of the best rock venues in Tweed," he said.

"Anyone coming can expect a real live hard rocking band.

"We're had a break and we're all fresh ready with some new material."

The four-piece band love playing shows together and Seymour considers all the members his close mates.

Guitarist Dave Morris, member from '80s popular punk rock band The Celibate Rifles, plays in the band.
