Banora house fire extinguished
FIRE put an end to some Terranora Rd DIY renovations about 10.50am today.
Senior fire fighter Mark Whiticker said the resident was soldering some plumbing when insulation in the wall behind him caught alight.
At 11.15am two fire vehicles, a police car and an ambulance were on the scene.
Another police car had closed Terranora Rd at The Parapet but the fire had been contained within minutes.
Mr Whiticker said the Terranora Rd resident extinguished the fire himself with a garden hose before fire fighters arrived.
"We checked the wall and ceiling with a thermal imaging camera and it was all clear."
He said fire crews were also called for an automatic fire alarm at a Condong nursing home.
