Ballina man arrested over Coffs Harbour kidnapping

AN ACCUSED kidnapper who allegedly snatched a woman from a Coffs Harbour hotel, then disappeared has been arrested at his Ballina home.

Police had been hunting a male perpetrator from the North Coast since November 11 when a 29-year-old woman reported she had lost consciousness and woken up in an unfamiliar place after being approached by a stranger at a hotel.

Coffs Harbour detectives tracked a 22-year-old man to his home at Ballina where he was arrested late Friday.

He was taken to the Ballina police station and charged with take and detain a person with intent to obtain an advantage.

He will front the Lismore court Saturday morning.

Investigations are continuing.
