A creative tidal wave hits the Tweed Coast with Bleach
THE Bleach festival has unleashed a creative tidal wave with the weekend's pre-Bleach hailed a success, despite the damp weather.
Last Friday's launch of the pre-Bleach weekend drew in crowds of all ages and showed us a sneak peak into the festivities we can expect over the next 13 days.
The long list of events officially begin this Friday.
Bleach Festival Director Louise Bezzina said there was a fantastic turnout with over 5,000 people at events over the whole weekend.
"I'm delighted with how it went; audiences came out and had a great time" Ms Bezzina said.
"All events on the weekend were meant to be held outdoors, however Sundays' event- had to be relocated to a hall, it became the orchestra in the hall and was at full capacity.
"People stayed despite the weather because they loved listening to the music.
"We saw lots of children and families at the 'Treasure Trove' event held Friday, at Paradise Point."
"Whereas at Burleigh Heads on Saturday we saw a young crowd, and at the Orchestra event there was an older crowd."
"It's great to see all parts of the community together."
"There will be 470 people involved including artists, designers, performers and musicians."
