A 7-year-old girl has been injured in a morning crash

A LITTLE girl was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after she was involved in a crash this morning.

The 7-year-old girl was placed on a splint and in a neck collar with a suspected fractured femur a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said

"The mother and brother were taken to Tweed Hospital with minor injuries," she said.

"We were called at 7.21 and quite a few units were initially sent."

Tweed District Rescue Squad president Jamie Stoddart said the crash occurred on Tyalgum Rd, Eungella about 7.15am.

"The squad had to use hydraulic tools free the occupants of the van," he said.

"It was a big hit."

Tweed-Byron Local Area Command were unavliable for comment.
