TYALGUM Hall came alive with the sound of classical music this weekend.
The 19th annual Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music attracted big crowds to see and hear a host of musicians perform their art.
The three-day festival began on Friday night with a piano performance by Tatiana Kolesova, followed by jazz couple Jose and Lisa McLaughlin.
The music began again on Saturday morning with The Young Virtuosi, which began with 2010 Tyalgum Festival Young Conservatorium prize-winner Heidi Chan on piano.
This was followed by the Jagged Rose Trio, consisting of Ayesha Gough on piano, Raphael Ebermann on violin and Julien Rosendahl on cello.
The Four Elements – Tania Frazer, Benjamin Greaves, Katherine Philp, Christopher Wrench and Gareth Belling – followed.
On Sunday, the morning began with a performance by the Queensland Conservatorium Brass Ensemble, conducted by Greg Aitken and Peter Luff.
The Picnic in the Park was moved to the Tyalgum school due to the rain where the Hot Chilli Drummers helped to keep the Father’s Day crowd warm.
