Tweed Coast Tiger John Cassidy in action.
THE Tweed Coast Tigers have a shot at greatness tomorrow when they take on Ballina Bombers in the Australian Rules semi-final at Oakes Oval.
As the Tigers have claimed 17 straight wins in the Summerland League they hope to tear away from one of their toughest contenders yet.
It has been a triple indulgence for the Tigers who put the Bombers to the sword in round four by 78 points, round nine by 12 points and round 14 by nine points.
President Colin Richards said the Bombers were a team they had trouble with and they had put them under pressure in their last two meetings.
“In both games we were in front at half-time and then we have only just won,” Richards said.
“The best two teams will play off. Ballina have hardened country midfielders and they have been playing finals footy for a long time.
“We need to be good in the ruck and our on-ballers need to win back out of the middle.
“If we don’t man up or run the ball up to our forwards it will put the guys under pressure and guys with good football sense can see that.”
Things have dramatically ramped up since they last met and Richards said they would field a full side.
