[OPINION]: WELL we got there. It wasn’t pretty, but we at the Titans were just happy to open the season with a win at home.
Somehow we won, despite all the stats being against us.
Scotty Prince and I were talking about it after the game and we both felt that regardless of what was going wrong, we always believed we would win.
It’s almost like we knew we weren’t going to lose but couldn’t put it together.
We never panicked and got there in the end, courtesy of the little magician, Preston Campbell, who just keeps getting better with age.
At this stage of the season, winning games is all about getting the basics right and working out combinations.
The team that gels best quickest will get off to a good start.
On a personal note I was just glad to get a cross for a try and get the monkey off my back early, not seven rounds in like last year.
I’ve got a good record against the Warriors, five from five now.

TOMORROW we head south to tackle the much-discussed Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.
There was a lot of hype about them leading into round one, with all their new recruits and all, but they were shown up quite badly by the Roosters and we intend to give it to them again.
They’re always good games against the Bunnies.
It’s no secret how they’ll play; using their big boppers – who they believe to be the best in the business – straight up the middle.
Sure they’ve got a big forward pack, but I think people have misconceptions about our pack.
Most of us are over the 100kg mark, and guys like Mark Minniciello and Brad Meyers are big boys.
Perhaps it’s just the fact we are more mobile than most that makes people believe we are smaller. It’s something we can use to our advantage.
We’ll be targeting the middle of the ruck and hoping they may be a little underdone.
If we can weather the initial storm and wear them down, the game will be ours for the taking.

CONGRATULATIONS to fellow Burringbar boy Matthew Butturini on playing an integral part with the triumphant Australian Kookaburras at the hockey World Cup.
To play in a World Cup coming from a small town is such an honour, but to win a gold medal would be just outstanding.
Good on you mate, well-deserved.
