A small boulder led to a mower accident on Tuesday.
A MOWER operator had an unfortunate accident on Tuesday morning that required the emergency assistance of a crane.
While cutting the grass at Banora Point’s Tierney Park, the closed-cab mower took a tumble.
The tri-blade machine ended up on its side under the shade of a tree, with the driver’s most serious injury a bruise to the ego.
Diana Crestani took a few snapshots of the incident and gave them to the Tweed Daily News.
A Tweed Shire Council spokeswoman said council had mowed the area for 15 years, in the same way, with the same equipment, without incident.
The driver had also mowed that park for the past year.
“As the ground was wet, the mower sank in a spot and a piece of the mower hit a submerged rock which tipped the equipment over,” the spokeswoman said.
The mower can be repaired.
