GOLD Coast Titans junior teams notched wins in pre-season tournaments at the weekend to remain in the mix for pre-season honours.
In the under-18 Mal Meninga Cup, Gold Coast Green defeated Redcliffe Dolphins 26-20 in a tight game at Parkwood.
Ed Murphy scored three tries for Gold Coast Blue in the team’s big 44-4 victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Hemi Boynton crossed for two tries and Isaiah March, Jackson Broadbent, Aryton Sanbrook and Matt Beddow also crossed the line at Stockland Stadium.
In the Cyrill Connell under-16 pre-season tournament, Gold Coast sides had two convincing victories. Gold Coast Green beat the Redcliff Dolphins 30-14. Corey Gerhardt scored a try and slotted five goals to add almost half of his team’s points. Keith Gadd crossed the line twice, with Jake Berkers and Andrew Hewfeu also scoring tries.
Gold Coast Blue’s 32-12 victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons was helped by Justin Proud’s two tries. Jodran Dulay, Dallas Wells, Zac Walsh, Carne Rhodes and Sam Gee contributed to the demolition.
